The Christian year starts on the first Sunday of Advent and follows a consistent cycle through the year, marked by regular major festivals.  As a result, there are a number of services that we hold every year, normally at the same or similar point in the year (although often moving as Easter moves).  The main special occasions that we routinely celebrate are detailed below, with an indication of when we normally celebrate them.

Christingle

We normally celebrate this on the first Sunday of Advent in our 10am Parish Communion Service.

Candlelight Advent Carol Service

We normally celebrate this on the third Sunday of Advent at 6pm.  This is a moving and atmospheric service with the church lit entirely by candles, and following the traditional nine lessons and carols format first devised in Exeter over a century ago.

Childrens' Instant Nativity

We hold a childrens' nativity service in Christmas Eve at 4pm every year.
