It was with a combination of excitement for what is to come and much sadness at what we will be leaving behind that I announced in church this morning that I will be leaving Holy Trinity on Sunday 24th January 2016. I have been appointed Director for Mission Engagement with the Anglican Mission Agency ‘The United Society’ known as Us (the new name for USPG) which I will begin in February next year.
The past 10 years at Holy Trinity have been a time of much happiness and blessing for me personally and for us as a family. Thank you for your support, friendship and love as we have journeyed together as a community of faith during this time. Holy Trinity has been a wonderful place in so many ways for us to make our home and importantly to feel very much at home. A move, although inevitable at some point, comes as a real wrench to us all.
Precisely where our new home will be is not known yet, house hunting is high on the agenda now, but it will be somewhere where the rest of the family’s lives can continue at school and work. Please pray for us as we begin to make this transition, as we will for the parish beginning a new chapter of ministry here.
In the meantime I am really looking forward to the wonderful journey that we begin today through the Kingdom Season, then Advent, Christmas and Epiphany, together. There’s lots coming up – I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the coming weeks.
With very best wishes and prayers
